In preparation for painting, we need to clean up the mess left by the drywallers. There is a heavy layer of white dust on the walls and ceiling that must be removed. Here Louise vacuums the ceiling in the hobby room. Mike will vacuum the walls and ceilings in all other rooms.

Miranda primed the walls in main floor bedroom #1. This room has high walls, and Miranda managed to paint them using an extension pole on the paint roller.

Miranda and Michelle primed the master bedroom walls, and Louise finish-painted most of the kitchen walls.
We installed laminate to areas of the kitchen walls between the cabinets and the counter below. We chose laminate to reduce maintenance: Splatters wash off easily – important above a kitchen counter – and these areas below cabinets will never need repainting.
There are four panels, and we cut, fit, and installed them all – a two-person job that consumed nearly 9 hours. Click here to see this part of the kitchen before the laminate was applied.

Louise performed various touch-up painting and housecleaning over the past two days. Today she primed the main floor hallway walls and ceiling.

Louise put a second coat on the dining room accent wall, and painted two closets on the main floor. Miranda primed the basement hallway.
Louise put a third coat on the dining room accent wall, and repainted the master bathroom for a lighter shade. She also painted two closets on the main floor.

Painting is almost complete. Only a single closet and the stairwell walls remain.
Louise finished painting the stairwell. Interior painting – a huge task – is complete except for one closet and minor touchup.
