The general contractor (Dennis) began clearing.
We took a ride out to the job site. Clearing has only begun – there's a lot left to do, and Dennis expects to be working all week.
The driveway is cleared all the way to the house site. It's bare dirt, but easy to walk.
Clearing is progressing nicely. The driveway has gravel almost all the way to the house site. Here are views of the entrance and the driveway along the way to the house. We like how the driveway curves gracefully in several places.
One of the benefits of the new house will be a new observatory to support our hobby of backyard astronomy.. During construction, the general contractor is using a portion of the observatory area to burn trees removed during clearing. This photo shows the burn pile and the future observatory site.
Dennis continues to make good progress. The house site is mostly cleared, but the septic field and some of the observatory area remain to be done. Here are two views of the house site. The red circles mark the center of the house.
More clearing has been done. This photo looks from the house toward the west (left) and the septic field area to the right.
